Draft picks acquired for Nauss & Taillefer

The Halifax Mooseheads made a pair of moves ahead of Friday morning’s QMJHL trade deadline. The team sent 19-year-old defenceman J-S Taillefer to the Gatineau Olympiques for a fifth round draft pick in 2018, while the team added an eighth round draft pick in 2018 from Chicoutimi in exchange for Morgan Nauss.

“We’d like to thank Morgan and Jean-Sebastien for their contributions to the Mooseheads and I wish them the best of luck in their future,” said General Manager Cam Russell.

Nauss was selected in the fifth round (79th overall) by Halifax in the 2014 draft while Taillefer was also a fifth round pick of the HerdĀ (91st overall) in the 2013 draft.

The deals somewhat clear up the situation on the blueline at training camp as the Mooseheads now have eight defencemen remaining on the roster.
