10 “Must See” Mooseheads games this season

Tickets for the 2017-2018 regular season go on sale Thursday at 11am and we here at HalifaxMooseheads.ca thought it would be good to list the 10 can’t miss games this season. In no particular order other than date, they are as follows. Drum roll please…

Sat.Sept 30th vs Acadie-Bathurst @7pm
Why? Because it’s the first chance to see the boys in action. Always a can’t miss event with an energetic crowd. Bonus, this year the home opener is against one of the favourites to challenge for the President Cup and certainly the Maritime Division title, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. This is where things get real.

Fri.Oct 6th vs Quebec @7pm
Why? Ummmm, because it’s Quebec. Halifax and Quebec haven’t played a game that hasn’t been filled with some drama. Plus first 3000 fans get one of the coolest t-shirts we’ve ever produced. Say no more.

Sat.Oct 14th vs Cape Breton @7pm
Why? It’s the first matchup of the season in Moose Country between the Provincial rivals. And it’s the back end of a home and home between two hated rivals. More importantly, it’s also the 10th annual Pink in The Rink game and you can help out a great cause. Mooseheads will again raffle off their pink jerseys in support of Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Atlantic.

Thurs.Nov 9th vs Baie-Comeau @7pm
Why?
A few reasons. First, Thursdays are Student Nights again this year. That means $9 per ticket and cover to Cheers with Student ID.  We’re also giving away $1000 each Thursday for students to spend on their books and tuition, yeah that’s right. Secondly, if there is a team that hates us more than Baie-Comeau we’ve yet to find one. We’re not big fans of them either for what it’s worth.

Fri.Nov 17th vs Saint John @7pm
Why? It’s DND Appreciation Night, one of the most important nights on the Mooseheads calendar each season. The Herd will pay tribute to the men and women of our Canadian Forces and all the money raised from our special jerseys will go to the QE2 Camp Hill Memorial Hospital for our veterans. It’s also a night circled by the NHL scouts as highly ranked Joe Veleno of the Sea Dogs takes on the trio of Mooseheads ranked in the first round in Zadina, McIsaac and Groulx.

Sat.Dec 30th vs Cape Breton @4pm
Why? Hurley Cup baby. Cape Breton has it and we want it back. Nuff said. Expect a big crowd for this one.

Mon.Feb 19th vs Rimouski @2pm
Why?
The #1 overall QMJHL draft pick Alex Lafreniere makes his only visit to Moose Country. The high scoring forward is one of the most prolific stars to come out of midget in quite some time after recording 83 points in 36 games in Quebec Midget AAA last season. Also it’s Family Day, look for another great deal for families on this Monday holiday matinee.

Sun.Feb 25th vs Drummondville @3pm
Why? To no one’s surprise Coach Dom has Drummondville on the rise. We think we have the best draft eligible goalie in the league and they think the same. Was a great battle last year and expect the same this year.

Sat.Mar 17th vs Acadie-Bathurst @4pm
Why? Because we need you there to say thanks that’s why. It’s Fan Appreciation Day. Prizes will be given out all-game including the jerseys off our backs, which will go right to our Season Ticket Holders. Plus it’s St.Paddy’s Day.

Any Game against Moncton (So Oct 17, Nov 21, Jan 17, Feb 16 and Mar 16)
Why? Two rivals. Two teams expected to bid for the 2019 Memorial Cup. Two teams with young talent on the rise. Two teams that hate each other.  Oh, and is there a better team to beat than Moncton? No, there isn’t.

Tickets on sale Thursday at 11am at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office, select Superstore Outlets, the Mooseheads Shop in Scotia Square, www.TicketAtlantic.com or charge by phone 451-1221.
