Mooseheads cut goaltender

The Mooseheads continued to pare down the roster at training camp on Friday when the team cut goaltender Raphael Blais, leaving rookie Alexis Gravel and veteran Kevin Resop as the two netminders with the team to begin the 2016-17 season.

Blais, a Mirabel, QC native, was selected in the sixth round of the 2015 QMJHL Entry Draft by Halifax.

The Mooseheads roster now sits at 26 players at the end of the second week of training camp, including two goalies, eight defencemen and 16 forwards.

General Manager Cam Russell swung a pair of trades earlier in the day sending blueliners J-S Taillefer to Gatineau and Morgan Nauss to Chicoutimi for fifth and eighth round picks in 2018.
