Mooseheads pick Goalie & Forward in American Draft

The QMJHL held a two-round online draft for American born players on Monday morning. The Halifax Mooseheads held the 16th and 34th overall selections and used them on Thayer Academy goalie Gavin Fitzpatrick and Malden Catholic High forward Riley Duran.

Fitzpatrick (2002/01/02) appeared in 27 games with Thayer Academy last season and recorded a 2.61 Goals Against Average with an .887 Save Percentage. The Norwood, MA native stands 6-feet tall and weighs 161 pounds. He catches left.

Duran (2002/01/25) played for both the Malden Catholic High Lancers and the Cape Cod Whalers U16 programs in 2017-18. He scored three goals and five assists in eight games with Cape Cod. The 16-year-old from Woburn, MA is 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds. Duran is a right-handed shot.
