Moynihan signs pro deal with Blackhawks organization


Former Halifax Mooseheads forward Connor Moynihan has inked a minor league contract with the Chicago Blackhawks organization. The Windham, New Hampshire native has signed a one-year deal with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

The 6-foot-4, 209-pound left winger recently participated at the Chicago Blackhawks development camp after receiving a free agent invitation.

Moynihan is fourth in games played in franchise history with 310. He recorded 133 points and 470 penalty minutes over five seasons in Halifax.

The Mooseheads will begin their 25th anniversary season when training camp opens later next month. The team will play its first preseason game on the road against Cape Breton on Sunday, August 19th. The regular season kicks off in Saint John on Friday, September 21st while the Mooseheads Home Opener is set for Saturday, October 27th at 7pm versus the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
