QMJHL Entry Draft Prospect Profiles

The QMJHL Entry Draft on Saturday, June 3rd in Saint John is quickly approaching with your Halifax Mooseheads holding the fourth overall pick. Additionally the team has the 23rd and 41st overall selections giving the Mooseheads a trio of picks in the top 50.

With that in mind is taking a look at some of the top prospects available.

Jaxon Bellamy of the Saint John Vito’s is one of two defencemen from the Maritimes slated to go in the first round of the QMJHL Entry Draft. Ranked 16th overall by Central Scotuing, he is a smooth skater and is one of the biggest players available at 6-foot-3 and 176 pounds. What separates him from the pack is the fact that he likely possesses the best shot among the available blue-liners. Bellamy had 22 points and 59 PIMS in 32 regular season games while he added another seven points in 10 playoff games with the Vito’s. He tied for the lead in scoring by  defencemen at the Gatorade Frost Challenge with three goals and three assists.
