Teddy Bear Toss Saturday Night
Your Halifax Mooseheads are back in action on Saturday night at 7pm on home ice against the Saint John Sea Dogs in the annual Teddy Bear Toss game in support of Ronald McDonald House Atlantic.
Fans are urged to bring a new stuffed animal to the game and when the Mooseheads score their first goal you can toss your teddy onto the ice! It’s always one of the most memorable moments of the season. Halifax and Saint John will play twice this weekend at Scotiabank Centre with the teams battling again on Sunday afternoon at 3pm.
Need a stuffed toy? We have them. Hal and Mac plush toys will be on sale for $12 taxes in at the Official Mooseheads Shop prior to the game and also available at the Merchandise kiosks at Scotiabank Centre at the game.
The Mooseheads (30-11-5-1) continue to lead the Maritimes Division with 66 points while the Sea Dogs (12-25-6-2) sit at the bottom of the standings. Otto Somppi has been hot for the Herd with 19 points in his last 11 games and has taken over the team scoring lead with 55 points. Line-mate Raphael Lavoie has also turned his play up a notch since Christmas and has 19 points in his last 10 games. The Mooseheads will be without sniper Filip Zadina who will serve a two-game suspension for a hit on Bathurst goalie Evan Fitzpatrick last weekend.
Benoit-Olivier Groulx, Jared McIsaac and Alex Gravel will be back with the team after showcasing their talents for dozens of NHL scouts and General Managers at Thursday’s CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Guelph, Ontario. Zadina also participated and scored twice for Team Cherry in a 7-4 win.
Tickets are on sale now at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office, select Superstore Outlets, TicketAtlantic.com, the Official Mooseheads Shop in Scotia Square or call 451-1221.
