Zadina named QMJHL Rookie of the Month

Halifax Mooseheads leading scorer Filip Zadina is the latest import player to be making a name for himself in a Mooseheads uniform. The Czech Republic native was named the QMJHL’s Rookie of the Month on Wednesday after beginning the season with 24 points in his first month of play in North America. Zadina is tops on the Mooseheads rosters in both points and in goals with 12. Heading into action on Wednesday night he sat in a three-way tie for second in the league scoring race.

Zadina has quickly adapted to a new league and style of play and is averaging 1.5 points per game while maintaining a +/- rating of +8. He was taken with the 11th pick in June’s CHL Import Draft and was listed as the fourth ranked skater for next June’s NHL Entry Draft on the International Scouting Service rankings released earlier in the day.

The Halifax Mooseheads visit the Quebec Remparts Wednesday night at 8:00pm at Videotron Centre.
