The Halifax Mooseheads named Taylor Ford as their new team Captain on Thursday. The “C” had been vacant since Timo Meier was traded to Rouyn-Noranda on January 6th.
Ford is an outstanding contributor both on the ice as a defenceman and in the locker room amongst his peers. The St-Lazare, QC native is in his second full season with the Mooseheads after being taken in the second round (38th overall) in the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft.
The 18-year-old has five goals and eight assists in 2015-2016 to go along with 59 penalty minutes.
The Mooseheads Hockey Club has also named forward Max Fortier and 20-year-old defenceman Zack Taylor as the new Assistant Captains.
Fortier is enjoying a breakout season with 53 points in his NHL draft-eligible year, while Taylor brings experience to the team after coming over from Shawinigan in a trade earlier this month.
