Hand injuries to keep Swan & Biasca out indefinitely

The Mooseheads were dealt a blow to the forward group over the weekend with a pair of hand injuries to James Swan and Attilio Biasca.

Swan suffered a broken hand at practice on Thursday and will be out of the lineup indefinitely. He is likely looking at a mid-to-late October return. The 17-year-old forward won the Hardest Working Player Award in his first season with the Mooseheads and  finished his rookie year with 11 goals and nine assists in 37 games played. Swan was a second round pick by Halifax, 28th overall, in the 2020 QMJHL Entry Draft.

Biasca left early in Saturday’s preseason win over Cape Breton with a thumb injury. The import forward from Switzerland is set to undergo surgery on Monday and will also be out indefinitely. The approximate timeline for his return is not clear at this time. Biasca came to Halifax following his participation with Switzerland in the World Juniors last January. He produced eight points in 19 games and had put together an impressive training camp and preseason this year with five points in three games prior to his injury.

Your Mooseheads are 4-1-0-0 so far in the preseason with a road game coming up this Saturday night in Moncton before the schedule concludes at Scotiabank Centre on Friday, September 24th at 7pm vs Saint John.

The regular season Home Opener is scheduled for Saturday, October 2nd at 7pm at Scotiabank Centre against the Cape Breton Eagles. Season Memberships, 15-Game Packs and Family Flex-20 Packs are on sale now, while Individual Tickets will go on sale Thursday, September 23rd at 10am at
