HE’S BACK

The Winnipeg Jets reassigned seven players on Sunday, including Halifax Mooseheads star forward Nikolaj Ehlers.
Ehlers was Winnipeg’s top pick at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, where he was selected in the first round (9th Overall) after a breakout rookie season with Halifax in 2013-2014.
He appeared in six preseason games with the Jets, scoring one goal and adding two assists.
Ehlers led the Mooseheads in goals (49) last season while finishing second to Jonathan Drouin on the team in points with 104. The forward from Denmark led the QMJHL in plus/minus with a +65 rating en route to being named the CHL Rookie of the Year.
Halifax expects to have the star sniper back in the lineup later in the week. The Mooseheads will entertain Charlottetown on Friday night at 7pm in the annual Pink in the Rink game.
