The Halifax Mooseheads have added some extra veteran presence to the lineup with today’s addition of 19-year-old forward Evan Boucher.
The 6-foot-2, 201 pound left winger was signed as a free agent from the CCHL’s Brockville Braves. Boucher hails from Ottawa, ON and was second in the CCHL in the scoring race with 40 points (22 goals 18 assists) in 27 games with the Braves prior to joining the Mooseheads.
“He is a big forward who plays physically and has a good scoring touch. We think he will be a nice compliment to our roster,” said General Manager Cam Russell.
He played 92 career CCHL games between Rockland, Nepean and Brockville, putting up a total of 78 points. Boucher was named to the 2019-20 CCHL All-Rookie Team. He also had a brief stint last season with the Atlanta Mad Hatters of the United States Premier Hockey League due to the pandemic shutting down the CCHL where he scored 11 points in nine games.
Boucher was a 10th round pick of the Flint Firebirds in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection and was drafted 16th overall by Gloucester in the 2017 CCHL Bantam Protected Draft.
Evan Boucher was 2nd heading into last nights game but came out of it leading @TheCCHL in Goals with 21. All it took was a hat trick. Here is his 2nd of the night as he makes a solid play at his own blue line before going all the way & finishing five-hole.@BrockBraves pic.twitter.com/9PFn0SBcrR
