Moose stick at 5th in Draft Lottery – hold back-to-back picks

Tuesday’s QMJHL Draft Lottery resulted in the Mooseheads staying put at 5th overall after the one ball failed to help the team move up. Sherbrooke jumped up from to grab the first overall pick despite having just 17% odds, followed by Cape Breton, Baie-Comeau, Quebec and Halifax.

The Herd hold back-to-back picks in June’s QMJHL Entry Draft with the 5th and 6th overall selections.

The 5th overall pick comes to the Mooseheads courtesy of the Moncton Wildcats via last year’s trades of Benoit-Olivier Groulx and Jared McIsaac to the Cats.

The 2021 QMJHL Entry Draft will be held virtually on June 25-26, 2021. The first round will take place on June 25 while rounds 2-14 and the American Draft will be held the next day. Fans can watch the event live on the QMJHL’s Official YouTube page. Once again this year,¬†Fenplast¬†will be the presenting sponsor of the event.
