Scholastic Players of the Month for September 2021

After recently kicking off the 2021-2022 campaign, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is proud to highlight the remarkable performance of its student-athletes, both on the ice and at school, during the month of September 2021. This recognition promotes the excellence and the perseverance of the student-athletes who are an integral part of our league.

16-year-old rookie forward Mathieu Cataford is the first winner of the season for the Halifax Mooseheads. June’s 6th overall draft pick is a Grade 11 student at Prince Andrew High School where he maintains a 97% average and is a self-driven and responsible student.

The recipients were determined by the academic advisors of the 18 teams, who do an outstanding job of supporting our student-athletes in their educational endeavours while having a significant impact on their lives.

Over the past 14 years, the QMJHL and its teams have supported thousands of student-athletes who work diligently at excelling in school while they pursue their passion of playing hockey.
