Raphael Lavoie drafted #38 by the Edmonton Oilers

Raphael Lavoie became the latest member of the Halifax Mooseheads to be selected in the NHL Entry Draft when he was taken in the second round, 38th overall by the Edmonton Oilers today at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C.

The Chambly, QC forward is the twentieth Mooseheads player to be drafted since 2010 and 50th in franchise history, following in the footsteps of  players like Alex Tanguay, Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin, Nikolaj Ehlers, Timo Meier, Nico Hischier and Filip Zadina.

Lavoie had an excellent season in Halifax with a career best 73 points on 32 goals and 41 assists. He went on to set a Mooseheads playoff record with 20 goals during an incredible postseason run in helping the Herd reach the Memorial Cup Final.
